A 13-strikeout performance by North Sevier’s Fisher Andersen tamed the Emery bats in Tuesday afternoon’s 3-1 win by the Wolves.
Emery got on the board in the top of the first on a Jordan Baletka double that scored Bryce Dugmore, who reached on a single to lead off the game. Andersen settled in on the mound for North Sevier and allowed just two more Spartans hits the rest of the game.
Easton Gordon and Baletka had the other two hits in the game. Dugmore pitched the entire game, allowing three runs on 13 hits while striking out two. North Sevier scored all of their runs in the sixth inning to earn the win.
Emery (3-12, 1-5 2A East) sits two games out of the fourth and final playoff spot behind San Juan, who is 3-5 in region play. The Spartans will travel to play at Union on Wednesday before hosting North Sevier (14-2, 6-1 2A East) on Friday.
