Dr. Kyle K. Jeffery of Castleview Hospital entertained many citizens at a dinner Thursday evening at the senior citizen center in Castle Dale.
Dr. Jeffery was born in Delta and early in his childhood moved to Lehi before servings an LDS mission in Ireland. Upon his return, he went to college at UVSC and then to medical school in San Diego. He completed his residency in Alaska and Arizona before moving to Castle Valley from the Phoenix area in July 2015. He, his wife Heather, and five children wanted to reside in a small community, so they were happy for the opportunity to come to this area.
The purpose of the evening was for the community to become acquainted with Dr. Jeffery and to learn of the services he offers. He said his goal is to provide quality services without having to go over the mountain. He is exploring ways to make his ideas happen.
Dr. Jeffery is a general surgeon who specializes in advanced laparoscopic surgery including abdominal wall, groin, colon, esophagus, gallbladder and stomach. He said that Castleview Hospital is congenial to work with and he hopes to help them broaden their services. He is sensitive to spending quality time with patients because of a previous family experience. Dr. Jeffery is also a proponent of open communication. He operates on all ages except the very young, unless he feels that his patients need care from someone else. He performs colonoscopies and screenings for breast cancer.
His nurse, Kim Deleeuw, is helping him plan for the coming school year by teaching safety to students. This will include trainings regarding bike helmets, seat belts, and the dangers of texting and driving.
Dr. Jeffery is receiving patients at 945 West Hospital Drive, Suite 4 in Price. He also comes to the Emery Medical Center twice a month and is expanding to Green River.
