The Carbon 10U all stars suffered their second defeat in three games at the Cal Ripken Pacific Southwest Regionals in California on Wednesday.
After winning its first-ever regional game on Tuesday against Southern California 15-8, Elk Grove was up next on Wednesday. Elk Grove went into the game with a loss to Hawaii on Tuesday, 13-3. Coincidentally, the 13-3 score would end up being the final between Carbon and Elk Grove.
“[We] played solid,” head coach Shane Henrie said via text message. “Elk Grove just hit the gaps better than us.”
Carbon, the Southern Utah champions, currently sits at 1-2 in the Bill Ripken Pool. Carbon has Thursday off before taking on Hawaii on Friday at 1 p.m.
