Robin (Bob) Kim Lowrey was reunited with his son on Aug. 4, 2016 at the age of 62. Bob was born to Jerry and Patti (Sutton) Lowrey in Pomona CA on April 13, 1954. Bob grew up in Claremont CA with his 3 older sisters. He attended a military school as a young boy and left school at a very early age to join the Army when his country needed him. Bob served for 6 years. During that time he was stationed in Germany where he met Vicki Downard. They were married and had their first son Richard. Upon the completion of his military service and returning to the states they settled in Moab Ut where their second son Robert was born. Bob completed the police academy and served with the Moab City Police dept. and later the Grand County Sheriff dept.. It was also at this time in Bob’s life that he had the opportunity to work closely with good friend Jody Bierschied doing reclamation work. Bob and Vicki divorced and he moved to southern California where he reconnected with childhood friend Lynn Harris. Bob and Lynn were married and had three children; Gilbert, Sara, and Lee. There was never a dull moment with a houseful of kids and crafts. These were some of his best memories. He worked in many different fields in the construction industry while in California. When Bob and Lynn divorced he relocated back to Moab UT where he enjoyed living with his son Richard and nephew Chad working in various cook and construction jobs. Bob and Richard then spent some time living in Washington State with close friends the Adamsons. Bob was once again drawn back to Moab where he met and married Lori Halstead. Their marriage was short lived and Bob reconnected with his first wife Vicki in CastleDale UT. Bob and Vicki shared the next 18 years together during which time they suffered the loss of their first son Richard. It was during this darkest of times that a ray of light was shone with the birth of their daughter Teah. Bob found a fondness for mechanics where he worked at Joy Global and Mine Hydraulics. If you asked Bob what he was most proud of he would tell you it was his children and grandchildren. Some of his most memorable times were working along side his sons Richard, Robert and his true friend Dusty Wilson. He was so proud to attend high school and college graduations of his children and grandchildren. The short but memorable visits he had with his parents and sisters held a special place in his heart. Bob loved interacting with people and exploring new places. He had a “green thumb” and loved gardening. Bob had a knack for capturing great moments with his camera. He loved to go out and gather firewood especially when it was more convenient than allowed. Bob was extremely keen on all the new technology and gadgets. He “had to have one”, not for himself but to give to someone else to enjoy. Bob had a great connection with all his pets. He was most happy when he was able to help someone in need and had a way of making you feel important. Cherish the love he gave, it will truly be missed.
Bob was preceded in death by his son Richard Donovan Lowrey, his father Jerry P. Lowrey, his mother Patricia A. Meloche, close friend Jody Bierschied, and third wife Lori Halstead Lowrey.
