The annual Carbon County Search and Rescue Demolition Derby took place on Saturday evening in conjunction with the Carbon County Fair.
Spectators started filling the fairgrounds arena at around 4 p.m. in order to ensure they got the best seat in the house. The National Anthem was sung by Jennifer Lopez.
The derby was made up of three heats, featuring mini cars, trucks and old iron cars crashing into each other in a win-all battle. When cars were being towed away, prizes were drawn, including a Demolition Derby car. Prizes were given out to cars who had the best paint, most aggressive, best hit and ugliest car.
The event everyone was waiting for was the main event and the wipe out. All funds raised at this annual event go the Carbon County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue.
There were approximately 43 cars that participated in this annual celebration.
