USU Eastern’s Jennifer Leavitt Student Center was full over the weekend as the third annual Care About Childcare-USU Eastern Conference on Strengthening of Early Childhood Programs took place.
The event, tailored to those who work with young children, took place Friday and Saturday with a variety of workshops and training available geared toward the conference’s theme of dealing with challenging behaviors.
Topics covered at the event included updates dealing with child care licensing, nurturing and responsive relationships, high quality supportive environments as well as targeted social emotional supports, among others.
Presenters included local officials as well as others. The conference was made possible through help provided by The Children’s Center, the office of Child Care, the Utah Department of Health’s Child Care Licensing Program, USU Eastern as well as the Child Care Professional Development Institute.
