PTO members (Moms) became waitresses at Castle Dale Elementary’s Etiquette Dinner Thursday. Principal Melinda Durrant was the hostess, seating students and teachers at tables already set and decorated for the festive holiday dinner.
Male students came to school wearing ties, dress shoes and Sunday best. Young ladies came in dresses and even some high heeled shoes. The turkey dinner was served on plates instead of lunch trays and seating was at dinner tables. “Please and thank you” could be heard as students made choices for their lunch.
The purpose was to increase students’ awareness of etiquette at mealtime especially as the holidays approach.
