John Joseph Peczuh, a Roman Catholic Trappist monk for over 60 years at the Abbey of the Holy Trinity in Huntsville, passed away quietly on December 15, 2016.
Born on October 4, 1929 in Kenilworth, Utah to John and Mary Peczuh. He attended Carbon County Schools from grade one through Carbon College. Early on in life, John picked up and loved the carpentry trade. His meticulous attention to detail was visible in all that he did. He served in the US Army for two years before returning home in 1952. He was a member of the Notre Dame Parish right up until the time he entered monastic life in 1954. He loved the religious life and his family members were frequent visitors to the monastery in Huntsville, Utah.
He is survived by his siblings: Mary Ann, Frank, Elizabeth, Rose, Michael and Emily and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral mass and burial at the Abbey of the Holy Trinity on Monday, December 19, 2016.
