The Carbon Lady Dinos couldn’t complete their comeback bid against the number-one ranked 2A North Summit Lady Braves Tuesday night in Price, falling by a final score of 62-52. Carbon has lost two of its last three games overall.
Lindsey Blanc’s jumper at the three-minute mark of the first quarter gave the Lady Dinos the 8-7 lead, the only lead Carbon would have in the game. Blanc finished with a team high 22 points on 9-19 shooting. Kelsey Sorenson nailed three triples in the game en route to 12 points. No other player had more than four points in the game for Carbon.
The Braves led by nine in the second quarter and by as many as 10 in the third. Down 46-37 in the fourth quarter, the Lady Dinos went on a 9-2 run to get within two, 48-46, before fizzling out down the stretch.
Carbon struggled from the free-throw line, going just 14-24 (58%) in the game.
Carbon (8-2, 0-0 Region 12) will make the quick turnaround and take on the Uintah Utes (5-2, 0-0 Region 8) at 3 p.m. Wednesday.
