Price City Police Department Press Release
On Monday, just after midnight, Price City Police Officer TJ Robertson began investigating illegal drug activity at 364 N. 1200 E. in Price. He was assisted by other Price City officers and a Carbon County Deputy.
Cherokee Freedom Gardner, DOB 7/3/99, of Price, was contacted outside the rear of the residence, and Alexus Nicole Sabey, DOB 6/11/96, the current occupant at that address, was contacted outside the front of the residence. They allegedly provided information to the officers that Stephen Cody Miller, DOB 11-20-95, of Price, was inside the apartment in violation of a protective order prohibiting Miller from having contact with Sabey, and that a 17-year-old male runaway juvenile was inside.
Upon receiving permission to enter the apartment, the juvenile was located and turned over to deputy Chad Marrelli, who had originally initiated his case.
Miller was also located and ultimately arrested and booked for misdemeanor offenses of violation of the protective order, and possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Another male, Carlyle Laron Burton, DOB 7-12-99, of Wellington, was issued a misdemeanor citation for possession of paraphernalia and released.
Meanwhile, officers allegedly located numerous items of paraphernalia and over 71 grams of MDMA, commonly referred to on the street as Ecstasy, or more recently as Molly. Gardner allegedly admitted the drugs were his and described his activities to officers. Sabey allegedly admitted she was in partnership with Gardner for the drug dealing activities of the Molly.
Both Gardner and Sabey were booked into the Carbon County Jail on the felony charge of possession with intent to distribute Molly, and the misdemeanor charge of possession of paraphernalia. The Carbon County Attorney’s Office will review the police report to determine the appropriate formal charges.
Neither Gardner or Sabey have a previous criminal history.
The Price City Police Department would like to warn users that besides the obvious inherent overdose risks of ingesting illegal narcotics, that illegal street drugs like Molly are not manufactured under the strict controls that pharmaceutical grade drugs are subject to.
