Emma Parcich Merkley, 98, passed away in her sleep on July 30, 2017, in her apartment at Aldersly Garden Assisted Living in San Rafael, CA, one day before her 99th birthday.
Born July 31, 1918, in Mohrland, Utah, to Emil and Annie Krizman Parcich. Married Woodrow B. “Woody” Merkley April 2, 1941. He preceded her in death on May 22, 1988.
Emma and Woody owned and operated Woody’s Jewelry in Helper, UT, for 33 years until they retired in July of 1983. They then moved to Rohnert Park, CA.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in the Oakland Temple for more than 14 years.
In October 2006 she moved to San Rafael, CA, to be near her son, Jerry, and daughter-in-law, Mare.
She is survived by Jerry and Mare (San Rafael, CA), special niece Jean Boyack of Helper, UT, and many nieces and nephews whom she loved very much.
A memorial service was held on August 19 in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, San Rafael, CA.
Inurnment will be in the Santa Rosa Memorial Park, Santa Rosa, CA.
