Best Time to View the Solar Eclipse in Castle Country

August 21 has been a date many have been waiting for. The Great American Eclipse will sweep the nation from northwest to southeast and will be over in a matter of minutes.

Although Utah does not lie in the full totality line to view the eclipse, 91% of the sun will be blocked by the moon. According to a couple of different sources, the best time to view the eclipse here in the Castle Country is between 11:33-11:35 a.m.

It is encouraged that all that view the solar eclipse today to be careful and not look directly at the sun, as it will cause sight damage. Instead, wear solar eclipse glasses or view it through the front-facing camera on a smartphone with your back to the sun.
