Castleview Hospital recently announced that Grant Barraclough has been named Chief Nursing Officer of Castleview Hospital, effective August 11, 2017. Barraclough has been at Castleview since 2006, working in Physical Therapy, Med Surg, Respiratory Therapy, Surgical Service, Emergency Department, and most recently as Assistant CNO.
“We are so excited to have Barraclough step into this important leadership role,” said Mark Holyoak, chief executive officer (CEO) of Castleview Hospital. “He is an exemplary leader with a tremendous amount of clinical experience and expertise. His commitment to patient care, physicians, employees and the community is evident in all that he does, and I know that he will help us further advance our mission of Making Communities Healthier.”
Barraclough demonstrated leadership as the Emergency Department Director, seeing the hospital through construction of a replacement Emergency Department, as well as recent designation of a Stroke Receiving Facility and the successful Accreditation as a Certified Chest Pain Center, among many other accomplishments.
“Barraclough is a great fit for our hospital,” said Lamar Guymon, chair of Castleview Hospital board of trustees. “We have been so impressed with his experience and knowledge, as well as his genuine care for people. We are really looking forward to working with him to lead the hospital forward.”
Barraclough is also a vital member of our community. He was the assistant and head coach of USU Eastern women’s volleyball program from 1999-2011. Barraclough has helped on many committees in the community and has also served as a scout leader for the Boy Scouts of America for many years. He has also been a volunteer on the state level serving on the Utah State Trauma System Advisory Council for the past two years.
“Castleview is such an important part of this community,” said Barraclough, “and I am really excited to take on this new role. I look forward to building on the strong foundation that already exists and helping the leadership team look for even more ways to improve the overall health and well-being of this community.”
Barraclough holds a Master’s Degree in Nursing Administration as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Western Governors University. He also received his Associates of Nursing from Utah State University-Eastern and is a certified professional in patient safety (CPPS). He is the recipient of numerous honors, including the 2013 Emerging Nurse Leader Award given by the Utah Organization of Nurse Leaders, Also in 2013, he was awarded the Castleview Hospital Mercy Award.
