Price City Police Department Press Release
On Tuesday just before 3:00 p.m. Adult Probation and Parole Agents Tom Kosmack, John Vasquez and Shawn Alton were conducting probationer/parolee checks and came upon a vehicle driven by a female at 120 N Carbonville Rd., with probationers James Joseph Cole, DOB 9-13-85, of Castle Dale, UT, and Tyler Wayne Peczuh, DOB 11-30-91, of Wellington, UT, in it. The female’s name is not being released at this time.
Upon initial contact, the agents discovered narcotic violations and Price City Police Officer Tyler Cressall was contacted to assist in the ongoing investigation.
All three subjects were allegedly cooperative with the officer and agents. Officer Cressall and the agents allegedly discovered drugs and paraphernalia items. The female was determined to not be involved, and each male subject allegedly acknowledged certain responsibilities for what was discovered.
Officer Cressall ultimately seized 44 baggies of marijuana totaling almost ½ pound, a digital scale, a ledger notebook, personal use amounts of methamphetamine, an unlabeled prescription bottle with 51 trazadone pills, three suboxone strips and small baggies, allegedly for distribution of those pills. Items of drug paraphernalia were also located.
Cole was arrested and booked into the Carbon County jail on charges of Possession With Intent to Distribute Marijuana and Trazadone, both 3rd degree felonies, Possession of Suboxone, Class A misdemeanor, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a Class B misdemeanor. The Carbon County Attorney will review the report to determine the appropriate formal charges.
Peczuh was arrested and booked on charges of Possession of Methamphetamine, a Class A misdemeanor, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a Class B misdemeanor. The Price City Attorney will review the report to determine the appropriate formal charges.
AP&P put a 72-hour hold on both men. Cole has 10 previous arrests according to court records, involving drug charges, burglary, theft, assault and criminal trespass. Peczuh has 12 previous arrests according to court records, involving theft, criminal mischief, burglary, vehicle burglary, failure to stop at the command of a police officer, assault, drug charges and illegal possession of a dangerous weapon by a restricted person.
