As part of the third annual Joe’s Valley Bouldering Festival, locals and visitors alike gathered in Castle Dale to take part in the Mystery Ranch Cowboy Games.
This free event pitted climbers against local cowboys in a series of competitions. Participants tried their hands at riding, hide racing and a ribbon pull. There was also opportunity to take part in a chicken chase, mutton busting and more.
The goal of these games was to connect climbers who frequent Emery County with the local residents while providing a look into some of the area’s fun offerings.
The Joe’s Valley Bouldering Festival also played host to clinics, tours and a trade fair.
