Carbon High Track competed in a region meet in Spanish Fork and a state qualifying Carbon Track Coach Jimmy Jewkes has been pleased with the team’s effort.
At Spanish Fork, Kayleigh Potts ran the 100 meter hurdles for the first time and took third. Jewkes thought she was a little timid in her first attempt, but she ran a clean race and did not crash. Potts specialty is the high jump and she won easily in that event, clearing 5’2”.
Sophomore Dallen Quinton and junior Kyle Barrett performed well in the 100 meter run. This is Barrett’s first year on the squad and Jewkes is seeing a lot of potential.
