Miss Carbon County’s Outstanding Teen, 2nd Attendant, MaKinzey Cross, is currently working on her platform entitled “There is No Excuse for Domestic Abuse”. Through this chosen platform, Cross is aiming to assist those that are in need due to domestic violence. Bravely, Cross has admitted that she chose this platform because it is dear to her heart due to previous experiences.
“I want to help victims in any way that I can,” expressed Cross.
She is requesting assistance in the form of donations. Cross stated that the number one needed item is pillows. Personal hygiene items, cleaning supplies, toilet paper and other items that could be used in any every day household are also being requested. New stuffed animals and toys are also needed in order for officers to give them to children.
There are a number of drop-off locations for this cause. The Sheriff’s Office (240 West Main Street), Love Fit Studio (39 West Main Street), Rocky Mountain Care (60 east 100 North) and U-Haul (404 South Carbon Avenue) will all be ready for your donations. Cross has also expressed that she can pick up donations if needed. Cross can be contacted at (435) 630-1649.
