The Lady Panthers basketball team opened the APA Eagle Tournament on a low note as the team fell to Wendover on Wednesday, 44-9.
Pinnacle’s two points in the first put them into a hole they could not dig out of as Wendover took a 22-5 point lead at the half. Shooting troubles would continue for Pinnacle throughout the remainder of the game as they were handed the loss.
Stephanie Sasser led the team with five points while Nikki Borba and Jennifer Acosta chipped in two apiece to round out the scoring.
The Panthers will look to rebound in the next matchup of the tournament against Draper APA on Thursday. Two games will highlight Pinnacle’s schedule on Friday, including contests against Utah Military and APA West Valley.
