The Carbon Lady Dinos continued their home run streak while thrashing the visiting American Leadership Academy Eagles Tuesday afternoon, taking the game 16-1.
Home runs by Makenna Pendergrass, Brooke Moosman and Kaytlyn Cripps made it five straight games in which the Lady Dinos have registered at least one home run. Cripps’ shot was her seventh of the year and sits just one shy of third place, and teammate, Cali Fossat for most home runs in the state of Utah.
Carbon scored seven runs in each of the first two innings, and two more in the third to end the game early.
Moosman went 2-3 in the game with a home run and a single, driving in a game-high four runs. Pendergrass was next with three RBIs with a home run and a single as well. Cripps went 2-2 in the game with two RBIs. Kelsey Sorenson also had two hits in the game.
Moosman also went the distance in the circle, allowing just two hits and an earned run in 2 1/3 innings pitched.
Carbon (16-3, 5-1 Region 14) will host Grand on Wednesday and Emery on Thursday under the lights at 7 p.m. The Carbon/Emery game will be broadcast live on ETV Channel 10 at 7 p.m.
