A total of 21 teams took part in the 2018 Carbon High Farm Bureau Invitational on Friday at Carbon High School.
Carbon finished in third overall (boys in third overall, girls in second), while Emery took seventh and Pinnacle ended up in 19th.
Carbon took a number of first place finishes, led by Regan Hanson’s top showing in the 3200 meters, over four seconds in front of second place. The boys’ 4×100 (Carter Fausett, Derek Hillam, Carson Frame and Jaylon Dennis) and 4×400 (Derek Hillam, Carson Frame, Carter Fausett and Jared Spendlove) teams also took home first place finishes as well.
Other top five finishes from Carbon:
Girls’ sprint medley team (Regan Hanson, Annamaria Cartwright, Crystal Nef and Paiten Thomas), fifth; boys’ sprint medley team (Ammon Wilson, Jaylon Dennis, Brandon August and Michael Bera), fourth; Carson Frame, fifth in 110-meter hurdles, fifth in long jump; Shannon Baker, second in 100 meters, second in 400 meters and fourth in 200 meters; girls’ 4×100 team (Paiten Thomas, Mikelle Monson, Madelyn Christensen and Annamaria Cartwright), second; Makenna Blanc, third in 400 meters, third in long jump; Derek Hillam, third in 300-meter hurdles, second in long jump; girls’ 4×400 team (Makenna Blanc, Shannon Baker, Madelyn Christensen and Paiten Thomas), second; Harley Migliori, fourth in shot put; Marianna Molinar, second in javelin; Emma Christensen, second in high jump.
Emery’s Braiden Ivie raced to overall top showings in both the 100 and 200 meters.

Tiana Jensen, fourth in 100-meter hurdles; Treven Brazier, fourth in 110-meter hurdles; girls’ 4×100 team (Tiana Jensen, Chloe Sermon, Sydney Terwilleger and Bethany Justice), fifth; boys’ 4×100 team (Daeden Behling, Keldan Guymon, Treven Brazier and Braiden Ivie), second; Tayden Nielson, fifth in 800 meters; Bryar Meccariello, fifth in 800 meters; Chase Christiansen, fifth in 3200 meters; Drake Hoffman, fourth in shot put; McKenzie Cox, fourth in discus.
Pinnacle scored points on Brielle Motte’s sixth place finish in the discus and a seventh place showing by the boys’ sprint medley team (Shayden Christensen, Parker Hansen, Landen Hardy and Zach Gibson).
Carbon will travel to Vernal on Friday for the Eastern Utah Championships at Uintah High School. Emery will be in Richfield the same day for a region meet. The Panthers will take to the road as well, taking part in a meet in Wendover.
