The Carbon Lady Dinos set another season high in runs scored in a game after a dismantling of Providence Hall Tuesday afternoon, 28-2.
Carbon beat South Sevier back on April 3, 27-9. Coincidentally, that game began a streak of eight straight games in which the Lady Dinos’ have tallied at least one home run. Kelsey Sorenson kept that streak alive against Providence Hall, nailing her first home run on the season, all while going 3-3 in the process. She led four others who had at least three hits in the game. Kennady Nelson had four hits, going 4-4 with three RBIs.
Makenna Pendergrass, Dekota Kraushaar and Clarissa Noyes each had three hits in the game. Carbon totaled 30 hits in the game overall, one off its season high set against South Sevier.
In all, 13 players who played in the game had at least one hit.
Carbon began the game with nine runs in the first innings, followed up with 11 more in the second and finished with eight in the third to end the game via the mercy rule.
Carbon (16-3, 6-1 Region 14) will play at Union on Thursday. Union beat Carbon 5-4 in extra innings back on March 27, the lone defeat for the Lady Dinos in Region 14 action.
