The fresh fruits and vegetables program at Bruin Point and Wellington is available again this year. The program aims to expose students to foods that they may not normally see or have on a regular basis at home. On this particular day, we served pineapple.
Pineapple is an exotic, sweet treat. Kids enjoy the tart unique flavor while benefiting from its healthy properties. Pineapple is an excellent source of vitamin C and is high in fiber. Though it is sweet, it is low calorie. Our students like to try different things and discover favorites as they sample these new fresh fruits and veggies.
