The HOPE Squad of Carbon & Emery Counties hosted its fourth annual Spring for Hope event on Friday evening at Pioneer Park.

Amanda McIntosh started off the evening by speaking on the influence suicide can have on everyone. She then went on to explain the significance of the flowers that were to be planted. “It will be a garden to remember loved ones and that something beautiful can come from our tragedies,” explained McIntosh.

Those in attendance then proceeded through four tables, receiving the tools to plant their flowers, as well as informational tools about mental illness. After flowers were planted, participants were given a torch, signifying as a way to come out of the darkness.

Dinner was provided after the planting of the garden.
