Once again, the time of year came when Pinnacle High School bade farewell to their senior students. The 2018 Pinnacle Panther graduation ceremony commenced at the Price Civic Auditorium on Wednesday evening. The Carbon High School drumline and VFW Post 2379 started the event with a processional and presentation of colors.
Two seniors were recognized for receiving more than one Academic All-State honors this year: Kaeley Taylor and salutatorian Remington Motte. Graduate Chanel Richardson then sang the National Anthem before Pinneacle Chief Administrative Officer Roberta Hardy gave the welcoming speech. This year’s guest speaker was Project H.O.P.E coordinator Zena Robinson. Robinson spoke on her pride for the graduates, their hard work and dedication. She also stressed that life has many unexpected twists and turns.
“Even when your plans don’t work out, things work out,” Robinson said.
Following Robinson’s speech, salutatorian Motte gave a short speech to his fellow graduates. A video of childhood memories was played for all to enjoy, followed by an address by valedictorian Sidney Dalebout. Another video, this one comprised of school memories, was then shown.
The fun did not stop after the presentation of the graduates, however. Once the tassels were turned and the caps thrown, a number of the graduates returned to the stage to perform a number of musical renditions for the crowd.
Pinnacle would like to give special thanks to the parents, GEAR Up, VFW 2379 and the Carbon High School drumline for their roles in the commencement ceremony.
