Several Memorial Day services took place throughout Castle County on Monday morning as the public spent the day remembering and honoring those who gave their lives in defense of the United States.
Gun salutes honoring fallen veterans were conducted at many of the area cemeteries During the services, colors were presented, a prayer was given and then three rounds were fired to conclude the service. These services were provided by the American Legion posts and conducted by the various command officers of each post. Chaplains from each post also offered prayers.
