Helper City Mayor Lenise Peterman strives to ensure that hard work and brave citizenship does not pass unknown in the city. This effort was exercised at the Helper City Council meeting that took place on Thursday evening.

Mayor Peterman took time to recognize the efforts of Tyson Haycock and Travis Wilson. The duo were credited with saving a life while on the job. Haycock and Wilson were working on the river walkway when the incident occurred and Mayor Peterman saw the opportunity to honor the two.

Mayor Peterman stated that these particular acts save the world by saving one person at a time. The city of Helper appreciates the efforts of saving a life by performing work duties and placing the life and safety of a citizen above all else.

“I don’t know if we celebrate these things enough and I think it’s important,” Mayor Peterman stated.

While Haycock was not able to be in attendance, Wilson was present and able to accept a plaque honoring the effort.
