The Carbon Dinos were looking for revenge against the Manti Templars Friday night in Price to kick off the 2018 season, having lost to the Templars 21-14 a year ago.
The Dinos didn’t find it, keeping the game close in the first half before losing the game 40-15.
Down 12-0 early in the second quarter, Carbon’s Collin Lewis pushed his way in the end zone from the one-yard line to cut the lead to just five, 12-7.
Manti then scored the next 28 points in the game to push the lead to 40-7.
Jaylon Dennis rounded out the scoring on the night, hauling in a pass from Noah Jones from 39 yards out to end the game 40-15.
Carbon (0-1, 0-0 3A North) will play at Payson next Friday.
