New Police Chief Sworn In For Wellington City

Surrounded by family, friends and fellow peace officers, Rory Bradley was given the oath of office by Judge Jon Carpenter at Wellington City Council meeting on Wednesday evening. Following the ceremony, Judge Carpenter was asked to give advice. He said one word only, “Work!”

Bradley responded, “I will! This is as good as it gets, being Chief of Police for Wellington City.”

He thanked his wife and family as well as friends and the citizens of Wellington. He told of his love for the city. He also thanked Carbon County Sheriff Jeff Wood and his team for the training he received there. Congratulations continued from the city council and many audience members who were gathered at the meeting.

Before accepting the new position, Bradley was previously a detective for the Carbon County Sheriff’s Office. He was employed with the county for nearly 13 years following the start of his law enforcement career in Emery County as a corrections officer. Bradley is a Wellington native and steps into the position with extensive knowledge of the city.
