Press Release

On Oct. 12 and 13, the Rocky Mountain Region of Soroptomist held their fall meeting at the Radison Inn in Price. Approximately 55 Soroptomist members gathered to share ideas about fundraising, projects and public awareness as they work to improve the lives of women and girls in their communities and around the world. Attendees came from Salt Lake, Bountiful, Price and Ogden as well as clubs from Idaho and Wyoming.

The Price Soroptimst Club had about 12 members in attendance and as host club were able to choose a local need for all the attendees to assist with. The Colleen Quigley Women’s Shelter was the project the members felt could use some help. All the attendees were asked to bring hygiene products and baby diapers to be donated to the Crisis Shelter.

These items were given to the shelter this week and will be given to women who come through the doors as needed. Often times in situations the families and women must leave their home with little or nothing but the clothes on their backs. It takes time for assistance to be arranged so items like diapers for the babies, shampoo and other hygiene items are a lifesaver.

The Soroptomist club in Price will be holding a charity benefit on Friday, Nov. 16 at the Carbon Country Club. There will be a four-course dinner provided that will be served from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The donation fee is $35 per person and there will be tickets available from any Soroptomist member and the Carbon Country Club. All participants must be 21 years or older.
