The first responders banquet, which was hosted in the ballroom of USU Eastern at the Jennifer Leavitt Student Center, welcomed a large number of the community on Wednesday evening. After a brief welcome and the flag ceremony performed by the American Legion Price Post #3, Carbon County Chamber of Commerce director Deserae Stevenson and her daughter Kenzie Munsell sang the Star Spangled Banner.
While those in attendance were enjoying dinner courtesy of USU Eastern, Wellington Elementary students and the Carbon High jazz band both put on great performances for all. The award portion of the night then began, recognizing the entities throughout Castle Country that work tirelessly to ensure that the local residents’ safety is always intact.
Those recognized were the Carbon County EMS; Wellington fire and police; East Carbon fire, police and EMS departments; Helper fire and police; Price City fire and police departments; Scofield Fire department, Carbon County Sheriff’s Office as well as the Carbon County Search and Rescue; Carbon County Public Safety Dispatch; Utah Highway Patrol; USU Eastern Police; Carbon County Adult Probation and Parole (AP&P) agents, Utah FFSL and the Carbon County Hazmat Team.
The sponsors for the event were also thanked for making the evening possible.
