Huntington Canyon closed this afternoon at approximately 4 p.m. Flooding has caused several landslides throughout the canyon, making it unsafe for thru traffic. Law enforcement will be keeping people from entering the canyon to ensure safety.
According to Emery County Sheriff Greg Funk, Huntington Canyon will be closed for the next 24 hours for clean-up.
“Today our early warning system worked flawlessly, but the public has to use great caution when traveling and recreating in Huntington Canyon,” Funk said. “Today did not appear very threatening, and caused the damage you can see in the photos.”
