Carbon High wrestlers had a duel against South Sevier on Tuesday night. It was the last home duel of the season for the Dinos, so the senior wrestlers were honored.
Soon to be graduating Dino wrestlers include Astasia Gomez, Bobby Blake, Nicholas Butkovich, Jacob Jewkes, Beau Tubbs, Nathan Cowley, Conner Fausett, Ammon Willson, Branson Cook, Keityn Hunt, Jacob Barlow and Makade Bradley. The Dinos also took time to memorialize Alfred Martinez, Carbon’s first state champion, for his great accomplishments.
Then, it was onto the wrestling portion of the night. Cayleb Marshall (120) won by a quick pin while Fausett and Hunt won by major decision in the 145 and 160 weight classes, respectively. However, the Dinos ultimately lost the duel to South Sevier, 54-26.
Up next, the Dinos will travel to Moab to duel the Grand County Red Devils on Thursday. It will be their last match before the 3A region competition on the first weekend in February.
