With assistance from the Price City Fire Department and Carbon County Ambulance, Castle Heights Elementary took time on Wednesday morning to honor the school’s archery team.
The team, which recently returned from the state competition, have a lot to be proud of. McKenzie Fredrickson received first place in the girls’ competition with a score of 234 while Madisen Donathan shot 228 and received second place in the girls’ contest. Paxton Falk received third place in boys’ event with 254.
However, the celebration did not stop there. As a team, Castle Heights Elementary received first place in the elementary division of the archery competition with a final score of 2,754.
The team boasted seven of the top ten girls in the competition and five of the top ten boys. These scores mean that the team will now compete in nationals, which is slated for April 26 in Salt Lake City. Under the direction of coaches Kyle Hansen and Bill Bate, principal Chris Winfree stated that he is very proud of the team.
“We want to see you guys bring home a national title as well,” Winfree encouraged.
This marks the second consecutive year that Castle Heights Elementary school brought home the state champion title in archery.
