The Spartans hosted their final game of the year on Tuesday afternoon.
Emery was down 2-0 before it was able to scratch across one run in both the fourth and fifth innings. The score remained knotted up at two until Manti went to the plate in the top of the eighth. The wheels fell off for the Spartans in extras as they surrendered five runs in the inning to lose 7-2 on senior night.
Emery has two games remaining on its schedule before the state playoffs games. The Spartans (10-8, 8-3 Region 15) will head to North Sevier (11-8, 4-2 Class 2A Central) on Thursday and then have a rematch against Manti (12-5, 8-3 Region 15) on Friday.
