There were not many that were willing to miss the opportunity to say their final farewells to Helper City Fire Chief Richard Colombo on Friday afternoon.
Colombo’s retirement party was hosted in the Helper Civic Auditorium, welcoming any individual that wished to attend, drop off a present and chat with Colombo as he goes on his way into entering retirement. Colombo is leaving the department after an impressive 41 years, nine of which were spent as the chief.
Refreshments, light snacks and two separate cakes were available for those in attendance. Memorabilia and art that were constructed in Colombo’s honor were also on display for all to see.
