Science Campers Learn to Survive

This week during the USU Extension Youth Summer Science Camp, the little learners were taught the basics on how to survive stranded on an island.

They started the week by putting together a survival pack full of things that would assist them. The children learned how to filter water and also made ovens, maps and other things that could be helpful if ever stranded.

There are two more weeks remaining for the science camp. In two weeks, Aug. 5-8, the small scientists will participate in “Crime and Spy Science.” This will be for children 9-12 years old.

The last week of the camp is Aug. 12-15 and is for children 6-8 years old. That week, participants will learn about bugs. There are a few more places open for kids to join. To sign up your child, please call the USU Extension office at (435) 636-3233 to pay the $10 fee per week.
