The Duchesne Eagles pounded the Carbon Dinos 35-0 Friday night in record-breaking fashion.
Not only did the Eagles improve to 3-0 on the season, they surpassed the 2006-08 Timpview Thunderbirds for most consecutive wins in the Utah high school record book. The Thunderbirds won 36 straight games during their historic stretch, which included back-to-back-to-back 4A championships.
Duchesne entered the game with Carbon winner of 36 straight and needed to upend the 3A Dinos to take the record from Timpview. The 1A Eagles started their streak with a win against West Wendover on September 3, 2010. Thirty-six wins later, Duchesne looks to win a fourth straight title this season.
Carbon (0-3, 0-0 3A North) will play next Friday against 3A South member North Sanpete.
