Friday and Saturday found the high school rodeo teams on the road to Vernal for the Rich and Uintah high school rodeos.
Emery High team members placing in the top ten were Jessie McElprang, who finished fifth and tenth in breakaway roping, and Jessica Fox, who placed sixth in breakaway. In tie down roping, Cole Magnuson was tenth. Baylee Jacobsen finished eighth in poles on Saturday and Korby Christiansen was fifth in reining cow horse.
In the shooting sports, Carbon’s Kagen Rhodes was fourth on Friday and third on Saturday. The junior high teams also competed in the shooting sports on the same days as the high school. Ryter Ekker finished first in both competitions and Kashley Rhodes was fifth in both rodeos.
High school rodeo teams will have a break for the upcoming weekend but will travel to Panguitch on Sept. 6 and 7. Junior high teams will be competing in Spanish Fork over Labor Day weekend.
