USU Eastern’s men’s soccer team traveled to the extreme heat of Henderson, Nev. over the weekend. On Thursday, the Eagles took on Arizona Western, a team that is ranked nationally in the top 25. The team played very well and were able to hold the Matadors to an even tie of 0-0 after double overtime.
“We had the same amount of opportunities as they did and came close to winning the game multiple times,” said head coach Jared Woodhouse.
On Saturday, the Eagles played another skilled team, Allan Hancock, and this time they were victorious. They were able to beat the Bulldogs 4-0.
“Our team is progressing well and taking steps to prepare for a very difficult conference,” Woodhouse said.
The Eagles will play again at home on Saturday, Sept. 7 against Moizer SC at 12 p.m. and USA at 2 p.m.
