On the day after Halloween, shoppers filled the Emery County Recreation Center at the annual Christmas festival in Castle Dale.
The Christmas festival has become a tradition on the first weekend in November. It began 35 years ago when Darlene Magnuson and Lori Hardee started the festival to make extra cash for Christmas.
They made Barbie and other doll clothes to sell. Now it is hosted by Shandy Magnuson and this year it featured 44 vendors selling a myriad of goods. The festival was Friday from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. and again on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Local dancers, cheerleaders and choral groups were featured all during the Festival.
