The 2019 San Rafael Art Guild Show/Sale was hosted at the Legacy Center in Huntington on Friday and Saturday.
Many different mediums of art were exhibited by 16 local artists during the event. KaeLynn Winn, founder of the guild, along with her daughter Kayla, displayed several of their paintings. Other artists displaying paintings were Sharon Bunderson, Sandra Jeffs, Jan Fowler and Lynsie Pentico. Chase Jensen, a published illustrator for children’s books, also displayed paintings.
Jon and Cindy Judd showed their silver and leather works, including a saddle. Ben Grimes’ artistic framed photos were also on the walls at the center. Jennifer Mathis displayed her jewelry and demonstrated how she made them. Tiffanie Justice, Lisa Chamberlain and Eldon Holmes included sculptures on display. Holmes also had painted and designed gourds. Angela Huntington’s art was displayed on cards, posters and pads. Tracy Jeffs’ wood carvings rounded out the many different forms of art displayed.
The guild began in 2017 and this show/sale was the second annual show. Those involved invite new members to join their group. The annual membership fee is $50 but is optional for artists. The fee is required only if the member wants to participate in the November show/sale.
The guild can be contacted through email, group text and social media, including the San Rafael Art Guild Facebook group. The guild plans three events each year, including the show/sale and a newly forming “Young Artists of Emery County” annual show in the spring. They will also be supporting and promoting the Plein Air Emery County event.
The goal of the guild is to help promote the positive and growth stimulating effects of art experiences in the area.
