Jeffrey Weber, longtime member of the Emery County Sheriff’s Office, was laid to rest on Saturday as friends, family, coworkers and members of the community gathered for his memorial service.
Weber passed away on Nov. 4 at the age of 51. He was born May 14, 1968 in Green River to Charles Wendell and Florence Weber. He was born and raised in Green River where he fostered a love for the outdoors, enjoying activities such as hiking, rock hunting and sports. He was also a huge fan of the New York Yankees.
He took pride in being an Emery County Sheriff’s Deputy for more than 20 years. Weber began working as a corrections officer in the jail at the Emery County Sheriff’s Office in 1991. He graduated from Utah Peace Officers and Standards Training Academy in May of 1993. He continued his work as a corrections officer until 1996 when he took a position on the road. Weber worked as a patrol deputy since that time. In addition to his service at the Emery County Sheriff’s Office, Weber worked at the Central Utah Correctional Facility.
“At ECSO, Jeff was truly larger than life,” the Emery County Sheriff’s Office shared. “On his days off, he could be found in the weight room at the sheriff’s office, always focusing on weight lifting and physical fitness. He had a keen knowledge of the law, was always willing to step up and help his co-workers, and was dedicated to serving and protecting the citizens of Emery County.”
Weber is remembered as a loving spouse, son, father, uncle and friend. He is survived by the love of his life, Nicole; children Dalan (Lexi) Weber, Cheyenne Weber, Lane Wood, Sabrina Van Wagoner, Tristen Deabenderfer, Makayla Deabenderfer, Breshian Deabenderfer; mother Florence Weber; sisters Rebecca Herrera and Wendy Mouery; nieces and nephews Tony Herrera, Karma Dumas and Ariah Mouery. He is preceded in death by his father Charles Wendell Weber.
