Ratifications of requisitions were the main items of business for the Board of the Local Building Authority of Emery County meeting on Tuesday afternoon.
Switchboard and components, sheet metal, and garage doors needed for the San Rafael Research Center had been ordered early so that they could be installed ahead of the approaching winter weather, hence the ratification action instead of approval. All of these items will be purchased through CIB grant funds.
It is questionable if supplemental funds need to be applied for depending on budget items for Dominion Energy’s gas line, thus the next item on the agenda, the approval for additional CIB funds, is pending. A change order for the addition of a wash pad at the Green River salt shed was approved but the funds will come from Class B Road fund.
Three Emery County Commissioners comprise the Local Building Authority Board of Emery County and were all present at the meeting. Commissioner Lynn Sitterud reported that all employees at the San Rafael Research Center construction site are local residents and that the coal gasification, coal combustion and molten salt centers are progressing.
