Traffic nearly came to a standstill Tuesday afternoon following a three-car auto accident at the intersection of 100 North and Price River Drive. Although the vehicles involved in the crash were near the roadway’s edge, emergency vehicles filled the intersection, blocking the busy street.
Law enforcement officers directed traffic sending many motorists through residential streets to reach their destination. Wrecking crews responded to the scene as well, momentarily halting eastbound traffic on 100 North.
UPDATE:
According to Price City Police Sergeant Bill Barnes the auto accident occurred when the driver of a north-bound passenger car turned west, failing to yield to a south-bound truck. The two vehicles collided, sending both spinning into traffic. A third vehicle came to rest between the two vehicles involved in the accident, but was not damaged.
The driver of the north-bound car, Crystal Kouris, 29, was issued a citation for DUI at the scene. According to Barnes, Kouris was transported to Castleview Hospital following the accident. Blood work was taken and results are pending.
