The COVID-19 pandemic did not keep the Emery Spartans from tradition as the team hosted its annual Black and Gold game on Friday to kickoff the football season. The yearly game signifies the start of the season for the Spartans, who compete against one another in a full game scrimmage.
The Spartans will have their first matchup on Friday, Aug. 14 as the team travels to take on Millard. Emery will have back-to-back away games as the team will travel to face North Sanpete the following week on Aug. 21.
The first home game for the Spartans will be against American Leadership Academy on Friday, Aug. 28. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m.
