Due to COVID-19, Region 19 only saw two teams at its regional cross country race, including Pinnacle and Green River.
The Panthers dominated the boys’ race, taking the first five spots. Landen Hardy led the way with Jonathan Kessler in second, Michael Schmitz in third, Cole Barton in fourth and Ryker Howell in fifth. Camden Anderson came in sixth for Green River with teammates Ryker Meadows (7th) and Jo Vollmer (8th) right behind.
Kemery Stuckenschneider (Pinnacle) won the girls’ race followed by Celica Mendoza (Green River) in second. Madison Sasser, Darolani Motte and Kiera Davis came in third, fourth and sixth, respectively, for the Lady Panthers. The Lady Pirates’ Rilee Alvarado came in fifth while Emily Roundy finished in seventh, Jenilee Andrus in eighth and Angel Cordingly in ninth. Pinnacle took the meet 14-22 over Green River.
The two teams will now prepare for the 1A State Meet, which will take place next week.
