CURRENT SITUATION: The Bennion Fire was reported June 4, 2021. It is currently burning through steep, rugged, rocky terrain. That terrain, coupled with current red flag conditions, is making containment efforts challenging. A Type-3 team is expected to take control of the fire on Monday. Smoke is visible in the surrounding communities and from Highway 6. For public and firefighter safety, please avoid the fire area.

LOCATION: Bennion Ridge, Utah
JURISDICTION: U.S. Forest Service
FIRE BEHAVIOR/FUELS: The fire is burning in sage, mountain mahogany and pinyon juniper, being pushed by high winds and extremely dry conditions.
