Separate sealed BIDS for the replacement and installation of classroom and entryway carpeting will be received by Carbon School District Maintenance Department at 65 East 400 North Price, Utah. OR may be submitted electronically to bids@carbonschools.org. Bids must be submitted by June 29th 2022 at 10:00 a.m and then opened and publicly read aloud.

Scope of Work

1. Contractor is to verify measurement of areas to be carpeted.

2. Remove existing carpeting from specified rooms.

3. Provide all materials and labor to install new carpet

4. Repair or replace base molding as required

a. Rooms may vary between carpet base and rubber base moldings.

5. Elementary Classrooms shall consist of the following specifications

a. Carpet shall be manufactured by Shaw Flooring

b. Style: Hit the Books

c. Color: Study Hall

d. Carpet rolls preferred.

e. Estimated quantity 572 sq. yards. (See A&L line 1)

6. Carbon High School classroom carpet shall consist of the following specifications:

a. Carpet shall be manufactured by Shaw Flooring.

b. Style: Central Line tile

c. Color: Metro Teal

d. 9”X36” carpet tiles preferred.

e. Estimated quantity of 619 sq. yards (See A&L line 1)

7. Walk off carpet areas

a. Match the existing room carpet as best as possible

b. Carpet tiles preferred

c. Provide samples with proposal for selection and approval with bidding

documents.

d. Estimated quantity 44 sq. yards (See A&L line 1)

Assumptions and Limitations

1. Contractor is required to verify measurements of specified areas in each school for proper quantity orders.

2. Removal and disposal of existing flooring is the part of the contract cost.

3. All supplies and/or incidentals required for flooring installation shall be included in the costs provided.

4. Arrangements for installation after “regular” hours MUST be made prior to scheduling work.

5. Installation work shall be warrantied for a period of at least one (1) year from the date of installation from any defects resulting in installation of carpet. This is in addition to any warranties made in conjunction with the carpet manufacturer.

6. ANY and ALL substitutions to the specified carpet must meet or exceed the specifications of the Shaw Contract Group as specified. Any substitutions of the carpet MUST be approved prior to bidding or will be subject to rejection of bid. Alternatives must meet a “Quick-ship” criteria to be readily available for the foreseeable future of replacement of matching product.

7. It is desired the carpet would be installed prior to August 10th. Priorities may be given to specific rooms to help with the scheduling of room preparations.

a. Please provide a schedule along with the bidding submittal to address how you best plan to meet the schedule and what accommodations may be needed (if any) to extend the schedule, provide additional work crews or other solutions to accomplish the work.

8. Bidders must have appropriate state and local licenses and required insurances in the amount called for by the State of Utah. Carbon School District reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive the informality or technicality not of a statutory nature in the interest of the District
