Fun in the Sun at the Carbon County Fair 5K

The Carbon County Fair hosted a 5K run event that started at the fairgrounds building, around the RC Airport, passed the soccer field and motocross track, around the fish pond and outdoor arena, passed the softball fields, ending back at the event center on a sunny morning on Saturday, June 1.

The event had 26 competitors of all ages. Tanner Harker would finish with a time of 21:44, placing first for the male group. Harker was followed closely by Seth Jenson (22:00), Bradley Sweeney (22:47) and Michael Peters (27:11). The winners of the youth qualification were Cash Marsing (24:54) and Lincoln Marsing (25:35), proving to be some future great competitive athletes.

Keosha Rassmussen finished first for the women, with a time of 26:12. Olivia Bennet (26:13) was next, only a mere .01 second behind Rassmussen. Following them was Lilly Peterson (33:41), Angela Murray (35:30), Jennifer Miller (35:30) and Maylee Gregersen (36:11).

It wasn’t all about competing, but to get out and enjoy the beautiful weather with some family and friends. The rest of the competitors included Dawnell Hayes, Courtney Reaveley, Summer Behunin, Nikkole Bales, Collette Clement, Candace Allen, Kenneth Allen, Benjamin Clement, Scott Standing, Phoebe Marchello, Veronica Kratman, Braden Orr and Seth Ellis.
