On June 22, the Children’s Justice Center (CJC) of Carbon and Emery Counties had a fun-filled day scheduled for their first annual CJC Friends Board Fundraiser Golf Tournament.
The Family Support and Children’s Justice Center serves the community by helping children and their families build stronger and healthier relationships. It is designed to be a resource for parents and the safe homelike environment is a place to find help during times of crisis and services to prevent other crisis situations.
The day started off with the golf tournament with 25 teams participating. The winner of the tournament was the team of Richard and Joni Hackwell, followed by General Distribution and the team of Bill Barnes. The event then followed with dinner at the Carbon Events & Recreation Complex, provided by Sam Farlaino, and a live auction with many amazing donations.
Natural Causes then took the stage to perform covers by Rick Springfield, Bryans Adams, The Romantics, Pink Floyd and Lit, among others, ending the night with an excellent performance from the band.
“We would like to thank Carbon County Golf Course for the use of the golf course and Brett Johnson for all the guidance provided. Bill Barnes for guiding us in the journey. Natural Causes for providing great entertainment. The staff of the Carbon & Emery Counties Children’s Justice and Family Support Center. All of the golfers and team sponsors as well the Hole, Minor sponsors and the donations we received,” the center shared. “This was a huge group effort. This event was such a learning experience and such a fun day out on the golf course! We hope to see you all again next year!”
